Why Is My Viking Dishwasher Leaking at the Door?

Where the water is actually coming from
Wipe the floor dry, run a full cycle and come back with a torch. A drip tracking down the outside of the door below the handle is the gasket line. A puddle at one corner only usually means the door hangs a shade low on that side, so the seal is squeezed on one edge and slack on the other. Water arriving from under the toe kick with a dry door face is a different fault, down at the sump or a hose.
The paper test at the door
Trap a slip of paper along the seal, close up, and tug it free. Repeat at both top corners, midway down either side and along the bottom, marking every spot where it slips out freely. A seal doing its job grips the paper all the way round; the clean spots are where water leaves. Two minutes of that tells the technician whether this is a gasket, a hinge or a latch no longer pulling the door in square.
What a seal replacement involves
The seal is a press-in strip following a channel around the opening, and on most machines it comes out and goes back without disturbing the tub. Where the door is the problem rather than the seal, the work is at the hinges: the height is reset so the door closes square, and only then is a new seal worth fitting. A cracked tub is rare, and it is the one finding confirmed rather than assumed.
